Site Security
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs commercial software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. Additionally, all transactions containing sensitive information are encrypted. All modern browsers allow users to see the encryption status and inspect the site certificate.
When you use your credit card to do business with Miami Parking Authority the integrity and privacy of your account information is protected using industry standard encryption technology. To guard against credit card fraud, this web site does not process, store or transmit credit card information. Instead, all credit card information is handled directly by our payment processor, First Data. First Data in turn issues the Miami Parking authority account tokens that can be used to process transactions. These tokens can only be used for transactions between the customer and the Miami Parking Authority. They are useless to hackers or any other entity attempting to use them. To make these tokens recognizable, only the last 4 digits will match the card number.
Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction.
Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
