Miami Parking Authority is aware of reports from cities across the U.S. involving fake QR codes placed on parking signs and machines. These QR codes could redirect users to fraudulent websites designed to steal personal and financial information. That is why Miami Parking Authority is removing QR codes from the parking signs and urging the public to use the PayByPhone app instead. The authority will continue to exercise greater vigilance in identifying fake QR codes posted on its signs. Nevertheless, they ask the public to report suspicious QR codes by calling the Command Center hotline, which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at (305) 579-4900.
