(MIAMI, FL – August 2, 2022) The International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI) Board of Directors elected a new leadership slate at its 2022 Annual Conference held in New Orleans from July 24 – 27, 2022. Alejandra “Alex” Argudin, Chief Executive Officer of Miami Parking Authority (MPA), was named Chair-elect. She previously held the position of Treasurer.
Argudin attributes this recognition to her longtime involvement with IPMI, hard work, and commitment to the advancement of the organization. Previously, she served on multiple committees, including the Accredited Parking Organization (APO) Board and the Research and Innovation Task Force. She is gratified by and proud of how the organization has morphed over the years into a global leader in the parking and mobility sectors.

“Alex has distinguished herself as a pioneer and leader in the parking and mobility business, and she brings that vision and knowledge as the chair-elect of IPMI,” stated Shawn Conrad, CAE, CEO of IPMI. “Her experience shaping policies to address industry changes, micro-mobility adoption, and economic development is an enormous asset to our organization. I am confident that with her continued leadership, IPMI will be poised to address the unique opportunities and challenges the business will face in the foreseeable future.”
“Mobility is at the heart of economic growth and prosperity, and I commit to working synergistically with my colleagues on the Board to shape public policies and actions that are consistent with technology innovation, connectivity, and autonomy,” said Alejandra “Alex” Argudin, Chief Executive Officer of Miami Parking Authority and Chair-elect of IPMI. “We have an inalienable responsibility to work with the public and private sectors to improve the quality of life of urban communities.”
Argudin leads MPA at a time when the forces of change continue to disrupt and transform the parking and mobility sectors. She spearheads innovative initiatives transforming the Authority from a traditional parking organization to a leading-edge, multi-disciplinary entity. Under her leadership, MPA has adopted micro-mobility options, fostered public-private partnerships, promoted digitalization and integration with smart-city technologies, and implemented a corporate social responsibility program that builds community.
“As IPMI chair-elect, I will strive to increase diversity, especially by propelling women into leadership positions,” further stated Argudin. “I will prioritize attracting the next generation of parking and mobility leaders and promoting their professional development. These young professionals will face a wide range of opportunities and challenges, and with their help, IPMI will reach new heights and continue to advance and grow as a global industry leader. I submit that I will do my best to strengthen IPMI’s leadership position nationally and internationally.”
Argudin is the recipient of the 2022 Women of Influence Award and the 2022 Ford Mujer Legendaria Award. She chairs the Board of Directors of The WOW Center and is a member of the Florida International University President’s Council and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation Committee.
