Due to the ongoing threat of hurricanes and flooding, the City of Miami and the Miami Parking Authority (MPA) are pleased to announce the year-round availability of the Hurricane Parking Program. The Hurricane Parking Program has now been extended to include flood events in the City of Miami, offering residents and City of Miami employees the opportunity to park one vehicle per household/employee in select Miami Parking Authority garages. The participating garages include:
- College Station Garage, 190 NE 3rd Street, Miami, FL 33132
- Knight Center Garage, 100 SE 1st Street, Miami, FL 33131
- Regatta Harbour Garage, 3351 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133
Enrollment for the Hurricane Parking Program is open year-round. Participants must apply by using the “Enroll Now” button below. The application process requires proof of residency or employment (e.g., utility bill, vehicle registration, City of Miami employee badge). Once approved, registrants will receive an email with instructions to download a QR code, which will be used to enter and exit their assigned parking facility during a hurricane or flood event. Please note that facility assignments are based on availability and may not be near the registrant’s residence.
The program expires one year from the date of approval, and renewal must be completed on a rolling basis to maintain access to the program.
In the event of a storm or flood alert, the program may be activated at the discretion of the CEO of the Miami Parking Authority, allowing registrants to park their vehicles in one of the designated garages. The terms and conditions of the Hurricane Parking Program will apply.
The Hurricane Parking Program is activated when the National Hurricane Center or the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) issues a Hurricane Watch. Once a Hurricane Watch is in effect, registrants may begin entering their designated facility using the provided QR code. The assigned facility will remain accessible until it reaches full capacity. If this occurs, the registrant’s parking assignment may be transferred to another available facility.
When a Hurricane Warning is issued, all MPA facilities will be closed until the EOC determines it is safe to reopen them. There will be no entry or exit during this time. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for MPA staff to mobilize and reopen the parking facilities once the weather warnings have been lifted.
Upon exiting, registrants must scan the QR code used to enter the facility within 48 hours. If a vehicle is not removed within this time frame, the daily rate for the parking facility will be applied to the parking session until the vehicle is removed, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Hurricane Parking Program.
