In an unparalleled collaboration, MPA commissioned the talented student artists of the New World School of the Arts (NWSA) to create an art mural that depicts, honors, and celebrates the rich ecological heritage of Miami. A mural is important to MPA because it is an artistic expression that the community can enjoy. Environs pays homage to South Florida’s unique biodiversity and speaks to the interdependency of the ecosystem and urbanization.
The unveiling will take place Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Courthouse Center Garage. The event will feature an inauguration ceremony with the NWSA students and faculty who led the project. Environs drew its inspiration from the city of Miami’s flora and fauna.
