On June 21, 2021, Mr. James Cassel was appointed to the Board of the Miami Parking Authority. He was ratified by the city of Miami Commission on July 8, 2021. Mr. Cassel is chairman and co-founder of Cassel Salpeter & Co., LLC, a South Florida-based investment bank. He is the former vice chairman of Landenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc., where he managed the company’s Investment Banking department from 2006-2009. Prior to this, Mr. Cassel served as founder and president of Capitalink, L.C., a South Florida premier boutique investment bank from 1998 to 2006.
He is a former member of the Miami Parking Authority’s Parking Advisory Committee. Mr. Cassel is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and a former director and president of the South Florida Chapter. He is a monthly Miami Herald columnist and has addressed major conferences on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance nationally and internationally. Mr. Cassel received a Bachelor of Science in political science and economics from American University and graduated with a law degree from the University of Miami.
