The City of Miami will enforce a nightly curfew beginning tomorrow, Friday, March 27th, in an effort to slow the person-to-person spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The curfew runs from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. nightly until further notice and will be strictly enforced by the City of Miami Police Department.
The Miami City Commission unanimously approved the new measure at a virtual City Commission meeting held entirely online on Wednesday night. There are some specific exceptions to the curfew order for employees and residents to be aware of:
- Resident travel to and from approved, essential workplaces
- Medical emergencies
- Dog walking: residents must stay within 250 feet of their home or building at all times
- Food delivery services
Additionally, the following are permitted:
- Provision of essential state, county and City of Miami emergency services and hospital services
- Utility emergency repairs
