Miami Parking Authority offers one hour of free parking on Flagler Street in Downtown Miami during construction

Beginning on Friday, May 26, 2017, Miami Parking Authority (MPA) will implement a one-hour free-parking special program on Flagler Street in downtown Miami in an effort to ameliorate the impact of construction on residents, merchants and visitors.  The one-hour reprieve will expire at the end of construction.

The free hour will apply only to customers who park on Flagler Street in the downtown Miami area and pay with PayByPhone.  PayByPhone is a free app that can be used on any SmartPhone.  Once customers download the app, they need to register by visiting: www.paybyphone.com.  PayByPhone is recognized worldwide for its ease of use and convenience.  To use PayByPhone, customers only need to enter the location number of the parking zone that appears on the street signs; choose the desired number of hours/minutes; and click to confirm the transaction.  It’s that simple!

Parkers who use PayByPhone in Miami enjoy two added benefits.  In Miami, they do not need to pay the convenience fee of $.35 every time they park and use PayByPhone.  Additionally, if they live within the boundaries of the city of Miami, they can receive a 20 percent discount when they park.  Customers need to register with Miami Parking Authority and show proof of residence to receive the 20-percent discount.  Parkers can register by visiting: www.miamiparking.com or the Customer Service office located at 40 N.W. Third Street in Miami.

“Once again, we have listened to our customers who have asked us to help out during the period of construction along Flagler Street in downtown Miami,” said Arthur “Art” Noriega, Chief Executive Officer of MPA.  “MPA and PayByPhone have joined forces to do their part to help the residents, merchants and visitors when they park in the downtown section of Flagler Street.
