Parking Permits
Monthly on-street parking customers are issued a hanging tag that
authorizes parking in a designated parking area. A new hanging tag is
issued each month, which allows parking only in the area for which it
is issued. All new monthly on-street parking customers are required to submit an online
Customer Information Sheet.
To use your permit,
be sure to display it correctly, hanging above the dashboard from the
rear view mirror. The permit number must be visible from the front of
the vehicle. If it is not possible to hang your permit from the mirror,
place the permit on the dashboard so the permit number is easily seen
from the outside. Affixing your permit to any other place else that is
not easily visible could result in a citation.
If your account is not current,
you will not receive a new hanging permit. Receipt of your payment by
the 25th day of the preceding month allows sufficient time to issue the
next month's permit. Your new permit must be displayed by the first day
of each new month in order to avoid ticketing and possible towing.
Please
note that the number of permits sold is based on the number of parking
spaces available. In many lots and areas, a waiting list exists. If you
do not renew your permit by the third day of the month, there is a risk
of your space being sold to the next person on the waiting list.
If your parking area is full,
as may happen on occasion with special events, you are authorized to
park in the closest available comparable parking lot or garage in the
area.
If your permit is lost or stolen, please contact
Customer Service immediately at 305-373-6789 ext 224. Replacement
permits may be obtained by visiting the Customer Service office. Miami
Parking Authority is not responsible for lost or stolen parking
permits, and will only replace one permit per year free of charge.
Permit parking customers are urged to exercise care in the use and
display of their hanging tags.
