PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Miami Parking Authority is committed to the future leaders of our community. We are proud to continue our Summer Internship program that provides an average of four students each year the opportunity to work at MPA during eight weeks of their summer recess. Students are chosen from inner-city high schools.

MPA summer interns are selected by school counselors and interviewed by the Authority's Human Resources Department. Students experience the full employment process, from filling out an application, interviewing and waiting for an offer letter. Once accepted, interns work in various MPA departments including Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources.

Students are encouraged to be involved in every aspect of their department. The Miami Parking Authority hopes to provide interns with a positive "real life" experience of holding a steady job.

HOW TO APPLY
Interested students should contact their school's work/study employment counselor. School employment counselors will perform initial screenings and present a list of potential candidates who meet age and residency requirements to Miami Parking Authority for further testing and consideration.

For more information, please contact MPA's Human Resources Department at 305-373-6789 ext. 241.
